Lilias Dalglish Lamond bc 1851
« on: Tuesday 01 January 19 10:34 GMT (UK) »
The above married Peter Berrie Henderson 1 Sep 1874 Helensburgh, ( her parents recorded as Robert Lamond deceased Writer and Catherine Mathie deceased) and appears to have passed away Q2 1875 in Edmonton, Middlesex, as did Peter on 13 Jul 1875.
At 1861 Lilias was living at Stewarts Green, Row, Dunbartonshire birth recorded as at Glasgow with another ? sister Jemima b 1850 and her aunt Catherine Lamond aged 51 b Glasgow. They also appear on the 1871 census at 18, West King Street, Row, Helensburgh. Still gives her birth as Glasgow but as she married in Helensburgh, was she born there?
However I'm unable to find a birth for her on SP which gives no records for her at all?

A will on SP for a Robert Lamond, 26 July 1859. Writer in Glasgow spouse of the late Catherine Mathie and the late Eliza Fraser or Lyle.

It would be worth obtaining this.

1851
18 India Street, Barony, Blythswood

Robert Lamond, 45, Procurator and Solicitor, b. Glasgow
Catherine, 39, b. Stirling
Camilla, 7
Catherine, 5
Jemima, 1

I assume Lilias was born later.

Note that not all baptisms are recorded in the OPRs for various reasons.

1841 Robert Lamond 36 is a writer
Catherine 33
James 8
William 5
Thomas 3
Henry 1

1851 census
Robert 45 is a prosecutor and solicitor before the court of Lanarkshire  in practice
Catherine 39
Camilla Ann 7 marries Alexander Macnie/Macine
Catherine 5
Jemima 1

1881 Jemima is living with her married sister Camilla Macnie/Macine depending on transcription.

The probate mentions that when son Henry reaches 24 he will take  over administration, till then it is James Mathie and John Dick Mathie, both writers of Stirling.

So where are the sons in 1851? and was Robert a writer or a solicitor or both.

ADDED his will was probated in London it gives a death date of 14 April 1859
