Young Frederick's death may have been a tragic coincidence but I am inclined to agree, it does sound as if there may have been more to it.

The death announcement was published in The Times a couple of months after his death & burial, along with the announcement of the death of his father.

He is buried in Shenleybury churchyard, which I believe is opposite Shenley Hospital (which Ray mentioned in an earlier post).
The burial register has his name entered as Edward Oswald, not Frederick Oswald, which is curious.
There are numerous burials in the register of people who's abode was entered as 'Mental Hospital,Shenley' but also many people from the village and surrounding area.

Have you thought about obtaining his death certificate to see if it throws any light on the mystery?

Regards

Trish
