Help with Identification of Uniform

This is a an old photo from my family album with the photographer being F S Moore of Castle Cary.  If someone could please assist with any information it may help to identify the subject.

Rifle Volunteers c1860. I can't tell you the unit, but there are experts on here who will be along. Many units were raised. Oh, I don't know though, Somerset Rifle Volunteers. Don't know which unit of though. Grey uniforms, many had rifle green.

In the late 1850's, there was war scare with Napoleon III's France. Millions were spent on fortifications all round the country like the forts in Portsmouth harbour and Hurst Castle, Keyhaven.

Added: 3 battalions, 1st 1859, 2nd and 3rd 1860.

If it helps the cardstock is late 1860's. So probably taken 1867-70.

The 23rd Somerset Rifle Volunteers (Wincanton and Castle Cary) beat the 24th (Somerton) unit in a shooting match in June 1869.  Names mentioned are Hutchings, Elliott, Barnes, Mackie, Norton. Hill, Arnold, Day and Howell.  Another contest at Castle Cary in 1872 featured Meaden, Mackie and Rider.

An 1873 photograph of the band of the 17th (Yeovil) has similar uniforms.

Thank you so much for the extra information.  I am now having to go back and look at who would fit into this age range with the assumption that the date of the photo would be 1859 to 1869.  Very interesting that MaxD would mention the name Norton.  I have a few choices between Norton, Dyke or Longman.  I am actually researching the Norton family of Somerset.  Richard Norton who married Mary Longman and came to Australia, settling in Central Queensland.  Do you know where there may be records of individual members of the Somerset Rifle Volunteers?
I really appreciate your responses to help with this dectective work.

The Volunteers were run by the county authorities not the War Office so records that exist would be held by Somerset county.

Forenames are not given in  the report cited, he was Corporal at that time.
