Hi there,

Did you contemplate spending some pennies on the NSW BDM d.c. or the less expensive but just as detailed official transcription? It should include 'how long in Australia' ...  His widow may have been the informant as she was alive at that time.   JM.

Rookwood is a huge cemetery.

I cannot see him on the National Archives (Australia) immigration record but the records aren't very good for that time.  He was a British Citizen (all Australians were also at that time) so no naturalisation needed.  I do not see him on the WW1 records either.

That is definitely the right family thanks. As regards the lady who "may still be living" if she is in this family it is almost a certainty. Most of the women live into their late 90s!! We men don't do quite so well though my cousin is 91. My great grandmother Emily referred to in the postings was 91, the only one of my great grandparents who could have met me. Amazing thing too is that there are very few dementia cases amongst them.
