Trying to get information on Gavin Gray married to Ann Hay approx 1773 in Canongate. They have two Janet Gray daughters listed. Janet Gray b1802 and Janet Gray b1808.

Have you looked at the church registers at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk?

There is a record of a marriage of Gavin Gray to Ann Hay in Edinburgh St Cuthberts in 1793 (not 1773 - why did you think it was 1773?), and baptisms of five children including Janet, baptised in 1802 but no Janet in 1808. Why do you think there was a second daughter named Janet?

There is a burial of a Gavin Gray, aged 61, in Canongate in 1830, who could be yours.

The originals of all these records are available to view online at modest cost.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
