What info. is on her MC & who did she marry/where was he from?

Have you found her on a passenger list/who with/when?

Can you list all info. you know of her (give links where possible), e.g. siblings names, children with names in order as this can sometimes be a clue to parentage, any middle names used for children?

When/where did she die, have you searched for a MI or obituary?

How do you know she was born Canongate?

Can see marriages listed for 1830 - Janet Gray and Joseph Shand - Saint-Gabriel's Street Presbyterian Church (Montréal)

http://applications.banq.qc.ca/apex/f?p=113:11:0::NO::P11_CLE:4446

or another version mistranscribed  at Presbyterian Saint Gabriel - Janey Gray - Joseph Thinel. (should be Shand)

There was a witness that looks like George Gray - does he mean anything to you.

There was a birth of William Shand in 1832 - St. Gabriel's Street Presbyterian Church, Montréal -
which would fit with age on 1891 census above.
