« on: Thursday 03 January 19 15:18 GMT (UK) »
In 1841, can anybody find Henry Rimson, born c 1786, possibly Monmouthshire.

He married in Roath, Cardiff in 1812 and died in Roath in 1846.

What occupation did he have?

Is he likely to have been on his own ie was he a widower and did he have any children he may have been living with etc

As far as I know he was a Widower.
No idea what his occupation was.
He was not with his three surviving daughters.
May have been with eldest son Joseph, born in 1813 but I cannot find him either.

Thanks Osprey. I've got most of that but not his possible mothers name though. Although I'm a wee bit dubious about the Monmouthshire connection  :-\

there's a Joseph Rimron fisherman on the 1841 & 1851 census, 1851 his place of birth given as Rumney, Mon. He married Ann Harding in 1814 at St John, Cardiff. One of the witnesses when Joseph, son of Henry, married in 1838 was a Thomas Harding.

Also a Nicholas Rimbron of St John who married a Sarah Harding 1 May 1819 in Llanilltern. Possible remarriage for him 20 Aug 1825 to Catherine Thomas.

the possible baptism for Henry in 1786 is in Rumney, not Rockfield. Sorry, I should know better than to trust the indexing on FindMyPast for the parish registers in Wales.   :-[

Howell Rimbron aged 70 was buried in Rumney 26 June 1833
Blanch Rimbron aged 73 buried in Rumney 2 May 1836
both indexed as Llangattock juxta Caerleon.

There is also, in 1851, a Joseph Rimron, labourer, born Roath, 1813 married to Margaret Thomas (married Cardiff, 1838).

Howell Rimbron was also a fisherman - there's an 1822 newspaper article about him finding a drowned family in a creek near the mouth of the Rumney
