Did he play Football for Everton?

Family lore has Thomas Wilkinson son of George Wilkinson and wife Isabella Ratcliffe born Beamish, County Durham, 1902  playing football for Everton. Is there evidence of this. Probably in the + - 1920 years.

Although it seems obvious that Thomas did not play for Everton he may have "tried out" for Everton in which no records were kept/survived. Thank you all for trying.

NEW FORWARD FOR NELSON. During the week-end inside forward, Thomas Wilkinson, has been signed for Nelson F.C. by Mr. J. English, the manager of the club. Wilkinson, who has been on Everton’s staff for the past two seasons, is 24 years of age, 5ft 8in and weighs 11st 7lb.

Thomas had 9 brothers and sisters previously found born in West Pelton. Pelton (County Durham) is indicated on the little biography you sent me. 1911 Census is stated as Thomas being born in nearby Beamish. All places in this reply being in walking distance. With the price of Petrol I would do a lot of walking. The Pelton Lane Ends House where he lived on 1939 Register is still there. Discription of Pelton Lane Ends.

"Pelton Lane Ends is a small village community with access to local amenities both in the village itself and in nearby Pelton. The village has road links and public transport routes to Chester-le-Street where a wide range of facilities are available".

Well done a good find. Two years at Everton in the time Dixie Dean was there. It might be worth contacting Everton I'm sure there must be some record. Local newspaper as well I'm not sure what's on findmypast with the collection they have I haven't got a sub at the moment.
