Burials in 1854 from Oldham Workhouse

Can anyone suggest where someone who died in 1854 at Oldham Workhouse would be buried?

Often people who died in workhouses were only there as they were ill.  Have you tried local churches

I cant find either of the 2 I am looking for. I've checked Ancestry,  both Lancashire and Manchester burials, and the Lancs OPC site.  I've looked at a list of what records Lancs Archives has for Churches in Oldham,  and they all seem to stop burials in about 1852/3.
I suspect both were in the workhouse due to 'Old Age'

Amos Horsman;  H; M;  74; Pauper Shoemaker; b.State of New York, British Subject
Martha Horsman; W; M; 72; b. Oldham

The information about death in the workhouse is from a descendent in the USA, who bought their death certificates.

There is a burial record for a baby Amos, son of Amos in 1818 - St Peter’s Chapel. Plus other names.
Is that the same family?

Just found a burial for St James in 1853 for Ellen, daughter of Amos and Mary
I have been assuming that this Amos is son to your Amos.

However, the burials for St James are online for 1854 but I can’t see them in the indexes.

you are correct
Amos (snr) = Alice Gledhill in 1803; then Martha Taylor in 1819
Amos & Alice had several kids, many of whom died
Amos & Martha only had 2:  Amos(jnr) married 4 times, and had 4 kids;  and Thomas who crossed the pond to Pennsylvania in 1856
Its one of the latter's descendents who bought the death certs.  sadly she didnt send me copies,  but said Amos (snr) died 2 Nov 1854,  and Martha died 7 Jan 1856.  The death cert's wouldnt be much use anyway, as ours dont show the place of burial.
