Seeking information on William NEGUS born abt.1867 to John and Harriet(SMITH)NEGUS,pres. in River Glade,Westmorland Co,New Brunswick.This couple had ten children with some moving to Nova Scotia;William is the only one I can't find a trace of.

The 1871 census says he's 8 years old, so born around 1863.

William is still at home in the 1881 census, aged 19, so born around 1862.

Frank died in 1878,John in 1898,both in accidents at the mills they were employed at(they were the only children born in England).

Chrisana,b.1854 in St.Andrews,d.1929,md.Jordan KAY in 1886.

Matilda,b.1856 in Rollingdam,Charlotte Co,d.1941,md.Joseph McAULEY.

Thomas,b.1858 poss.Anagance,md.Carrie KAY and settled in River Hebert,Cumberland,N.S. Thomas died 1935 in Sussex at the home of his daughter Carrie(NEGUS)CAMPBELL but was buried in River Hebert;his wife Carrie d.1929 Amherst.

Louisa b.1860,d.1883,Sarah b.1862,d.1886. Both are buried in River Glade Cemetery.

Joseph b.1865,d.1949 md.May(WILE)HUNTER and settled in Hants,N.S.

Harriet b.1870,d.1949(?)md.James MUNRO of Saint John and settled in Cape Breton,N.S.

I didn't see any mention of William in later census records for N.B. or N.S. There is nothing to indicate that he had died.

There is a William Negus listed on the 1920 and 1940 US census in Huntersville, West Virginia that ticks some of the boxes. The 1920 census is mistranscribed to say he was born in the US but it looks like NS to me. Here's a link to the 1920 census (line 27):

There are two William Negus born around the same time ... one in New Brunswick and one in Nova Scotia.

There are two William Negus born around the same time ... one in New Brunswick and one in Nova Scotia.

I know he was born in New Brunswick. It's possible he may have moved to N.S. later on,but except for Frank and John,all the children were born in N.B.
