Are there any records that would confirm his occupation and are the census similar to mainland?
Thanks

Hi,

Would this be Alice's birth? -

Alice Maud Charlotte Hunt
Birth Date - 30 Dec 1863
Birth Place - Guernsey, Channel Islands
Father - George Hunt
Mother - Caroline Swan

If so then on the 1871 George's occupation is ? at Factory and Pensioner, RG10 Piece 1183 Folio 49 Page 17, which could mean that he was previously a Serviceman. On the 1851 census there is a George Hunt born 1833 who is a soldier in the Army.
