Hi,

The Australian National Archives has details of his arrival in Australia.

http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/search/index.aspx

Use the "Record Search" then goto "Passenger Arrivals".

John was recorded as passing through the Port of Fremantle on the Arcadia in Aug 1960 and his passenger record states he was ticketed to Auckland New Zealand.  His last place of permanent residence was South Africa.  He doesn't appear on the Australian Electoral rolls until 1963.

Cando thank you, I found the Arcadia trip, when I could not find him in the UK, I checked the Australian Electoral rolls, found a few and guessed he died there, he  travelled quite a lot.
