Hospital stay
« on: Saturday 05 January 19 14:47 GMT (UK) »
I doubt there are any records anywhere.

But we lived in Australia as a child - just for a few years, near Sydney.

And at some point during that time I had to have my tonsils out...

I always say... I left my tonsils in Australia..   silly I know..

BUT I wondered if there just may be a record.

It was in the Blue Mountains hospital..

a beautiful place with an open Verandah   and a massive Rocking horse.

I remember the Nurses trying to keep me calm and my parents visiting..

the date has to be between May 1951 and October 1952

The name and other details I will pm... if anyone can help.

thanks

xin

Do you remember if it was a public hospital or a private hospital?

If you Google Blue Mountains hospital you'll find both - from UK you had better add Australia or New South Wales to the search string.

You could then email the hospital to find out about the likelihood of getting any information.
But I don't like your chances unless you can supply them with a UR number for your file - then again in the 1950s they probably didn't have UR numbers.

Cheers to Xin

Here’s some links for you to follow up re Katoomba hospital.   I have asked my Oberon relatives to call past there with their camera and take a current view or two or three for sharing with you next time they are en route to Sydney for doctors appointments etc.   They will strive to remember, but they said … Great Western Highway is  ‘a thumper to thumper traffic jam’ now… and it may be months …
