Hi

I’m looking for information on William Davidson born abt 1860 in Edinburgh.  He died on 17/11/1923 in Burton on Trent. He was in the leather trade and had (as far as I’m aware) 3 factories in Leicester and 1 in Burton.  He had a daughter with a lady called Rose Bull, the daughter was Lily Rollett and she was born in around 1896.  William and Rose were not married to our knowledge. 

Any information anyone can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I have seen this earlier today and it’s definately the right family although his birthplace is wrong.  I can’t seem to find anything else about him.

There is a William Davidson who fits the description of the 1911 entry in 1881 lodging in Burnley, Lancashire

William Davidson - married -Lodger - Leather Currier - born Bolton, Lancashire

Aidan Ignatius Rollett married Rose Bull, Jun qtr 1898 Leicester.

He was born in Leicestershire in 1868 and died there in 1951.

Did Lily marry (1917 Leicester) as Lily A Rollett to John Barry?  If so her birthdate was 5 March 1896.

Why do you think he was born in Edinburgh?

Scotlandspeople have William's born in 1858 or 1862 in Edinburgh City, just for info.
