The Royal Sussex Regiment World War 1

My Grandfather was with the Royal Sussex Regiment (Scotland, WW1) and Im looking to see if anybody recognizes pins from uniform.  Not sure of Regiment number or his Military ID.  Thank you in advance

Looks like a collection of souvenirs.  Includes the R Sussex badge at the top. A Royal Army Medical Corps Territorial Force in (likely) 52nd Lowland Division shoulder title.  A star from perhaps an American uniform? And a standard General Service button as worn by everybody almost.

They would not be worn together (except the button) so he may well have served in both R Sussex and RAMC.

Can you post his name?

Thank you for the response.  His name was John Rush born 1895.

Need a few more clues.  Did he survive the war and where was his home?  And I am unsure what the significance is of the (Scotland WW1) that you put after the Royal Sussex.  The only connection I can find between any of the many R Sussex battalions and Scotland is with the 11th Bn which went to Russia in Oct 1918 from Dundee.  The shoulder title is indeed from an RAMC unit in 52nd Lowland Division but the R Sussex never fought with that division.

Are you assuming he was in the RSR because of the cap badge or do you have other information?
There doesn't appear to be an MIC for him in that Regt.

There is a John Herbert Rush on CWGC died 21 Oct 1916 and his wife and locality are mentioned but need more clues.

I see he's recorded as Jack on Soldiers effects.

I also notice the sole legatee is his mother indicating unmarried so on the face of it not the posters Grandfather.
This is probably the conclusion you've come to hence the request for more info.
