sibling not father
« on: Tuesday 08 January 19 00:43 GMT (UK) »
just working some Ingrams.. distants on my tree..

wish I hadnt bothered..

they seem to be totally confusing...

I just checked over and one daughter is the sister of the father and then the 1891 census seemed to be added to the wrong generation..

so it must be me...

(never never never)  but good job I checked....  else tomorrow I would have had a right pickle

they are Ingrams from Northampton and Tailors with kids with fancy names and there are a lot of them.. so they are confusing... but Thomas is the Dad and Elizabeth is the Wife.. but also there is an Elizabeth daughter... then the wife I am sure dies in 1898  ooooh  mind blown.. will re-assess slowly tomorrow.

is this your Ingrams in 1901?
RG 13 Piece 1448 Folio 38 Page 16
13 pollard St Kettering Northamptonshire
Thomas Ingram 50 widow, Presser Tailor clothing
James W Ingram 24 House painter
Edward J Ingram 22 shoe and Bootmaker
Lucy Ingram 19 Machinist tailor Clothiers
Ada L Ingram 17 no occupation
Thomas Ingram 14 Errand boy (written above between the two words 'Port.
May Ingram 11
George S Ingram 9
Annie Ingram 26 Housekeeper at home
All born Middleton Northants

I think Annie is Annie Elizabeth in the 1881 census.
In the 1891 census   RG12 Piece 1219 Folio 10 Page 13 Elizabeth the wife is transcribed as the daughter but is the wife on the original image. Annie, James and Lucy aren't  with them.

1881
Curtis yard Cottingham
Thomas Ingram 29 Tailor Middleton
Elizabeth Ann Ingram 28 Thornby
Ann Elizabeth Ingram 6 middleton
James William Ingram 5 Middleton
Edward John Ingram 2 Middleton

On the same page is a John Ingram and family, a tailor and draper and a James Ingram and family Tailor. RG RG11 Piece 1579 Folio 10 Page 14

sounds like them

there seems to be a whole page of Ingram Tailors or family on one Census...   1881

half the confusion..

but yes she is transcribed as daughter.. on one census.. I left a rude note.. .. Must stop doing that :)

Lucy Ingram was my main search  she married  a Publican  but couldnt find her in the correct census.. so they seem to have swapped the children around the family./ ies.  She was born 1882 but not in the 1891 with pops and co... Mom has gone by 1901   :-X

Your Lucy married James Wood bachelor, a finisher, father Alfred wood deceased. Lucy, spinster, 13 Pollard st, father Thomas Wood, a presser. 10 June 1905.
He is a Publican, and by 1911 they had Vera Annie born c1906, Jessie May c1909 and Phyllis c1910
The 1911 confirms this is her because her brother Thomas is living with them.
