Never came across anything in the USA - the account in the Welsh paper said the body was embalmed and kept in an ice - house in Brainerd - think you have that article.

Just remebered that you saw an article mentioning 2 children to William and Florence.
These were the ones mentioned on anc tree - incase it helps to count or discount them 

Arthur Heywood Thomas - 23 December 1881 -  Tan-y-Bryn Wrexham  (that birth could be the one registered Corwen - Q1 - 1882 - 11b 364) Apparently he married Jessie Evelyn Reynolds - Q4 - 1903 -  Wrexham - 11 b 479 - Trees show a photograph of him. No death date given for him.

Charles Edward Thomas - 9 January 1883 Wrexham - 9 January 1883  (that birth could be the one Q1 - Wrexham - 1883 -11b 292) (He is the one I found reference to in Canada)

Florence Agnes Thomas - 3 April 1885 42 Cambridge Terrace, Wrexham. (So this daughter is born after William had passed awaybut before they returned his body for burial at Wrexham)  Must be the Q2 birth - Wrexham - 11b 295 - Trees show a photograph of her. No death date or marriage quoted for Florence.
