Haven't checked this out any further but there is this baptism:

Thomas Pinchen 13 Jan 1814 Woodborough Wiltshire to Edward Davies Pinchen & Hannah

May be a possibility as I note his age was changing enough during the censuses to suggest a birth year of c. 1810 plus he may not have been baptised immediately on birth but some time later.

Pheno

Not this family, as they have another Thomas on the 1841:

I feel you are being somewhat pedantic here.

a) I quite clearly said I hadn't checked it out
b) I said I was looking at a transcription  and
c) are you denying the possibility of a late baptism and thus offering no hope to the OP.

I have a baptism of one of my direct ancestors as an 18 year old, without which I would have been unable to go any further back.

Enough now,  Pheno

I wasn’t replying to you at all. My posts were for, Heather, and the death was simply for her reference.

There is no indication on the 1814 parish register baptism entry for Thomas (son of Edward Davies Pinchin & Hannah) of Thomas's' age

Other children to the couple were baptised 1818, 1820 & 1837.

Edward & Hannah married 3 June 1811

Thomas Pinchin age 21 was buried at Woodborough 04 Apr 1835.  This would fit the 1814 baptism and perhaps account for the son bapt 1837 as Edward Thomas being named after him

Thank you all for the comments and help. The marriage seems to fit well, Mary Jane Gilbert and Thomas Pinchin at Wilsford in 1827. Jane Gilbert, listed as Mother in law is with Thomas and Mary Jane at the time of the 1871 census.

Another big ask please. Does anyone have the burials for Charlton St Peter or Upavon. I wonder whether Thomas Pinchin who died in 1888 was buried in Charlton St Peter as he was living there in 1881 with his daughter and son in law or Upavon where his wife Mary Jane may have been buried.

Thank you again. William Sellwood was the bbs of my 3rd x Great Grandmother. Interestingly enough William Rawlings, carpenter is listed as Father on his marriage certificate!!
