Hello
Can I ask are you sure of Bridget's maiden name?
Because the obvious marriage is in Australia at Victoria in 1859 to a Bridget Keefe. Of course she could be a widow and that her married name from her previous marriage.
But there is a death for a Bridget O'Dowd in Victoria 1930 age 96 d of Patrick O'Keefe and Mary Cahill.

If he's the guy I think he is ,he died  at Hotham Victoria 1917 and his death registration says his mother was a Rose Carney. He  is buried 13 Sep 1917 at Coburg Catholic Cemetery.
His Obit in the paper says he has a wife and eleven children ,arrived aged 15 years from Meath ,settled in Gippsland at Woornambool.

There seems to be a brother Thomas born 1846 at Dangan who dies at Beech Forrest Victoria in April 1905 and gives his parents as Michael O'dowd and Rose Ann Carney.
He was a farmer at Colac Tree and left a Will. John and Patrick are the Executors.
(There is an old picture of him on line if you want it.)

Still can't see their christenings though

The mentioned obit, 3rd column: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article152186569

It should be ‘Warrnambool’.  ;)

Warrnambool it is, but it’s not Gippsland.  It’s SW Victoria!

Freya, where have you found the 11 births?

Some of the births and deaths found on VICBDM all have mother’s name as Bridget (O'keefe)

Added: I found them, DOWD/O’DOWD

Freya, where have you got the O’Brien from?

This is the marriage referred to, in VIC:

1859 494 KEEFE Bridget to DOWD Michael
