Military - Brighton - Theatre of War- Western European Theatre.

Lance Corporal G8342 9th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment - 24 th Division. Killed in action 3 rd April 1918 - Aged 33 years - son of William and Jessie Rous of Brighton - Commercial Clerk  - Born and enlisted in Brighton - Included on brighton War memorial commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial -

In 1871 - William & Jane had a daughter Jane born December qtr 1868.  Jane died September qtr 1872 aged 4

Looking at the O'Connor childrens birth registrations - Elizabeth's maiden name was Smith but the only marriage I can find is this one but it was in Leicester and no middle names shown??

Brilliant finds Sandra - see probate was to Dorothea Conchessa - widow.  Children were still very young when he died
