Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Do you have your grandparents marriage certificate which should name William Samuel's father?

I think this is the marriage from FreeBMD if you don't have it - Laura F Hewitt - William S Jones    March Qtr 1937  Bangor Vol 11b Page 814   If you don't have it you can order it online from the GRO using the reference numbers https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/menu.asp    It's free to register

Kay

Added - There is a family tree on Anc if you have access which lists him as born  11 June 1914 with parents Griffith Jones b 1875 Conway and Margaret Ellen  b 1877 which could be this family https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7VJ-6DV but I would stress that the tree is unsourced and needs to be treated with caution. You really need the marriage cert.  Jones is such a common surname  ;D

I wondered about this one as the tree owner lists no parents for possible mother Margaret Ellen or marriage for William Samuel' s parents :-\

Sep Qtr 1914   William S Jones mmn Williams Bangor    11b   768

Kay

Sorry - a marriage is listed for the parents as 8 November 1900  Holyhead, Anglesey but the wife's surname is listed as Williams  and the husband Griffith Jones was a Bricklayer from Bangor (the marriage is online on F M P)

I wonder whether William’s 1914 birthdate has been switched round in some records - 6/11 or 11/6?
