Irish Citizenship

I have a question regarding Irish citizenship, and wonder if anyone can help me.

If my great grandparents are both born and lived in Ireland, moved to England where my Grandmother was born, would my parent be entitled to apply for Irish citizenship?

My parent has never lived in Ireland, nor did my grandmother.

Would the fact her parents were Irish automatically make my grandmother an Irish citizen? 

I have looked online but got a bit confused. I understand it that my parent can apply, but I couldn’t. Would that be right?

Or would I be able to apply due to the fact my grandmother would be classed as an Irish citizen?

If one of your grandparents is an Irish citizen who was born in Ireland, but neither of your parents was born in Ireland, you may become an Irish citizen. You will need to have your birth registered in the Foreign Births Register

So reading that, my grandmother would automatically be an Irish citizen because both her parents were born in Ireland.

MY parent would be able to apply because HER parent is automatically an Irish citizen.

Does that mean I could apply because my Grandmother was an Irish citizen? (Even though she was born and lived in England).

ETA: I read it that I could only apply if my parent had registered as Irish before my birth. Am I reading that right?

If your grandmother was born and raised in England she does not have Irish citizenship. Your grandmother can, however, if still alive, apply for Irish citizenship due to having a parent born in Ireland. Your grandmother's children can apply for Irish citizenship due to having a grandparent born in Ireland.

You cannot apply for citizenship and will not become a citizen if your grandmother or parents become an Irish citizen.

Your Parents can apply....as one of their grandparents is an Irish citizen who was born in Ireland. but not you!
