Burial records can be helpful too - I've untangled some family lines after seeing who the person shares a grave with.

I have an ancestor who, along with his 4 brothers in the 1600s all had a daughter called Susan. Although only 2 of the 5 Susan's lived past infancy.


I check to see if the Grim Reaper has harvested any before they were full-grown.
I mentioned on another thread a few days ago that the curate in a parish which has a lot of records of my ancestors added parents' names of many adults in burials register for a period.
