A bit off topic Xinia,but there was a character named Mona Lott,
The BBC radio progrepamme was ITMA, It ‘s That Man Again.
Tommy Handley was the comedian and Mona was his cleaning lady at his office.
Her line,said every week was “ Can I do you now sir?”
In the 1940’s that was considered so suggestive as to be almost obscene.
How it got past the censor’s blue pencil is  a wonder.
She was actually asking was it convenient for her to start cleaning his office at thet time.
Such a popular programme in its day.
Sorry to go off track .
Some funny and some really odd transcriptions ,but it is sad that we may miss someone because of the errors.

and if it is Sarah Patrick married to George Hill  well I dont have a clue where she died..

and Ida Lavinia  I think married a Mr Birckitt or similar but they were never together in a darn census..

I saw a pic of Wilfred Bramble  the other day.. now that awoke some memories.. was it him who had Mable at the table...? for Workers playtime.. or was that Wilfred Pickles.. yes Pickles who the heck is Wilfred Bramble.. ok.   oh dear it was Steptoe.. just checked.

I believe the cleaner was called Mrs Mopp; I can still hear her voice now
Mona Lott's catchphrase was 'It's being so cheerful that keeps me going' 

Funny thing is, I can remember bits of ITMA really clearly even though it ended (and Tommy Handley died) in 1949 - some time before I was born.  It must have been repeated, by my Dad as much as the BBC, until it became part of my childhood

In the 1980s there was a Mona where I worked.  The parents must have had the gift of prophecy.  Our boss used to call her 'Mrs Lott' and she was the only one who didn't get it.  She'd plod around the place muttering 'I dunno why 'e call me thet, 'e know moy nayum' which made him say it all the more

Oh ,yes I mixed two characters up,but enlighten me,were they both in ITMA?
There was a Colonel too ,and a seedy character ,who was a spiv.

Yes, they were in ITMA.

You are also remembering "Colonel Chinstrap" and "Ali Oop".

ITMA still makes regular appearances on Radio 4 Extra. You should be able to listen via the BBC's "Sounds" bit even from overseas.

This is regarding my sad little orphans bless them we worked them on here some years back. 
They went to Bristol to the Muller House Orphanage..

 I have all the docs etc....

Thomas Patrick (baker) and his wife Suzanne from Clipston/e Northants died in 1852 within months of each other leaving 4 young children.

Sarah -  Lavernia/ Lavinia Sophia - and George  -

I have all the census even the dreadful 1861  where they are down by initials only..  

and I have managed to follow them through --

as:

Sophia becoming Mrs Wright Southern and dying in Lancashire 1918  she has oodles of children but very very few of them have 'issue'  !!! still struggling with one or two of them.

Working now
George married Sarah Forman ?  and has 3 children  (maybe) Florence George and Nellie

Also Attempting to set a marriage to Sarah    1846 Clipstone (could be George Hill and or many others)   --
Lavinia went to work for a family called Major so have a bit on her.. 

due to the fluidity of their home base !!!! it is difficult to complete them..

and today I have no patience . what with one thing or the other.. so a few chillax tabs would not go amiss  .. no alcohol ... no cigarettes.. no drugs.. oh for g sake need to chill ..
