WESLEY family around Sawley 1810-1850
« on: Wednesday 16 January 19 01:38 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Lookinf for some help with births and deaths for children of Benjamin WESLEY of Leicester and Ann Willmott of Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, married in Sawley, Derbyshire in 1809. Likely children’s names Samuel, Benjamin, George and John or Jonathan.  A John WESTLEY from Sawley was sent to Van Diemans Land as a convict in 1845, aged 15 and I am trying to trace siblings. Believe Benjamin and Ann were in St Peters Lane in Leicester in the 1851 and 1861 census,
Appreciate any assistance
Lyn

Both the Leicester Mercury and the Leicester Chronicle have the mae entry on 4 May 1861

"On the 28th, aged 78, Mr Benjamin Wesley, Soar Lane"

Likewise, both papers 20 April 1861

"Mrs Ann Wesley, Soar Lane, aged 75 years"
