Looking for records for R.D.L Asylum

I am looking for records for Richmond Asylum where my grandfather was a patient has anyone any ideas to find his records.  Many Thanks

I may, or may not, have got this wrong - RDL Asylum = Dublin  :-\ :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

I am wonder where I can get or look up records for Richmond Lunatic Asylum, Dublin 1920 to 1947 someone suggested workhouse records buy could not find them.
Would be very obliged if anyone has information on this subject or any suggestions.

The records are very unlikely to be online and since less than 100 years old may be difficult to obtain- maybe not impossible but might need a special application. First place to check is National Archives catalogue.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
