On the later censuses, Sarah gave her birth place as Swannington. She was buried there in 27th June 1874 - abode of Limby Hall, where she was living in 1861-71 (ages incorrect).

No firm proof that she was George's mother, but possible.

My gut tells me that George is Sarahs Son but I cant find a Baptism in Swannington/Cole Orton/Whitwick for him only the possible Barwell one 1818.

Sarah also had a Daug MARY Smith christened 7 October 1821 Cole Orton (F/S.Org)

There is a note added to the baptism of Mary in 1821 which states the she was baptised privately in May 1811 but not registered by the midwife, by mistake: received into the church on the above date (7th October 1821)

It could be that George was not baptised near time of his birth, but I can't find one later.

Possible link:-

One of the witnesses to the marriage of George Smith was William Cutler. He probably married Catherine Smith in 1837.

Both were of Swannington but Catherine was a spinster. However, she gave her father as Thomas Price.

Although born c 1817, she seems to have been baptised in Griffydam on 26th October 1834, born 15th November 1817, daughter of Sarah Smith, a spinster of Swannington. Her mother, like Sarah Glover, was also the daughter of James and Mary Smith.

I suspect that George and Catherine were siblings, but definite proof as yet.

In 1851, Catherine was a widow and one of her children was James Smith Cutler.

William Cutler, the husband of Catherine Smith, died possibly in 1850 in Coalville.

She then married Solomon Siddons in Q4 1853 in Ashby District.

In 1859, she was a witness at the marriage of James Glover, son of Sarah Glover nee Smith, to Mary Mitchell, on 30th August in Whitwick.

Being as Catherine gave her father as Thomas Price, it could be possible that he was George's father too?

Thomas Price might have been the father of both but George's father could have been anybody, including Samuel Glover.

Interestingly, a Thomas Price married a Mary Wradell/Wardle in Heather in 1823. A William Wardle was a witness to the marriage of Catherine Smith. Mary Wadell was born in Coleorton and had a brother called William, but may just be a coincidence.
