Benjamin WILDAY (WILLDAY), born April 1843, Birmingham
« on: Wednesday 16 January 19 21:04 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

The GRO at 1843 J Quarter BIRMINGHAM Volume 16 Page 345 states that Benjamin WILLDAY's mother's maiden name was STEVENS.

A secondary source indicates his parents were Benjamin (b1819) and Ann Matilda Maria WILDAY  (b1826 nee HILL), again born Birmingham J Quarter 1843.  I can find no primary confirmation.  NB: The 1851 England Census states he has been "adopted" by William and Mary HADEN (HO107/2055/285, p.11).

Can anyone resolve the contradiction please ??? ???

Thank you

BAC3

What is this "secondary source"?
I can see no logical reson why you are being coy about it.

Tazzie,

Thank you for resolving the question of "STEVENS".    I am extremely grateful and relieved that there is no contradiction just a very simple straightforward answer ::)

For the moment,

Hi....

The very large tree on Ancestry unfortunately has mingled the two families.

Benjamin Wilden baptised 15 May 1843 born 16 April 1843
Father Benjamin mother Ellen father a blacksmith. Same day as sister....
Betsey Wilden born 22 November 1841.

Betsey is at home with Ellen in 1851 with brothers but all born after death of Benjamin senior.
