Birth of John Hughes
« on: Wednesday 16 January 19 22:15 GMT (UK) »
Looking for a birth of John Hughes probably 1854. He appears in the census of England and Wales in 1881 to 1911 in Guisborough England with birth as 1854. In the 1901 census his birthplace is shown as Co Mayo Foxtown but I cannot locate such a place in co Mayo. Any help would be greatly appreciated  >:(

Is this the John HUGHES who
married Rachel Garth LANGLEY on Sep 26 1887 in Guisborough?

He was aged 34 at that time and gave his father's name as Harry HUGHES

This could help locate him accurately

John HUGHES married Rachel Garth LANGLEY on Sep 26 1887  aged 34  and gave his father's name as Harry HUGHES..... you could try looking for siblings marrying 1870's 1880's

C Reg Marriage results for Hughes of Swinford  http://www.rootschat.com/links/01n9t/

the first 12 or so don't have images yet.... but from 1870 they do

right click on 4 oe 5 names at a time and open in new tabs.....much quicker!

I know you aren't used to Irish records but have a try for yourself and see how you get along!
