Thompson
« on: Thursday 17 January 19 12:03 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find the family of Eliza Thompson, born in Manchester on 15 November 1894, she married Herbert Westwood and her father's name on the Certificate is James Thompson.  I have found several Eliza's with the father James but not sure which one is her.  In 1939 she was living in Thursley Avenue Manchester Married and with her four children and husband Herbert.  Can anyone help me find her correct parents as I can go no further with this tree until I have sorted her correct parents, already gone down wrong route once.  Thank you NEATWHEAT

From the GRO there is this birth

THOMPSON, ELIZA    mmn    WARDLE
1894  D Quarter
MANCHESTER  Volume 08D  Page 228

Then from FreeBMD there is this marriage

Marriages Dec 1882
Thompson    James
Wardle    Margaret
Manchester    8d   352

So you need to look on the 1901 census for a family with parents Margaret and James.

Thank you, yes I did find this family but in 1901 it is only the mother and two daughters, the mother Margaret is married but don't know where James is.  Also there is another Eliza Thompson born in Manchester the same year I have found an Eliza born in Leigh in 1894, parents James Thompson and Ellen (Sankey) I know her father is James but I was searching Manchester and when I put Lancashire the one in Leigh came up.  That is why I am searching, don't want to go down the wrong route again.  If all else fails I will have to get her birth certificate.

I'd get it sooner rather than later as prices are  going up next month.

Sorry I got that wrong the family were together in 1901 its 1911 they are apart but I think now this is the correct family because in 1901 they were living in the same district that Eliza got married in, I have found her marriage certificate.  Thanks for your help
