Hi
I need help with deciphering the surname of Lydia please.
I'm still stuck on this brick wall, and have been for over 10 years.
All help appreciated

Looks like Ruscoe to me.

The enumerator seems to finish some words/names with a curl going upwards and back over the letters - see Richard Cliffe, about halfway down the opposite page. And the initial 'R' is the same.

For those who want to look at the whole page, it's the 1841 census for Sound in Cheshire - HO107/118/26 fo4 p10.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Hi
Thanks all.  It has been transcribed as Roscoe, But I cannot find any other reference to this person so was thinking it may have been miss transcribed.

Don't forget if you're looking for her elsewhere that an age given as 15 in the 1841 census could mean anything from 15 to 19. I see she was born in Cheshire, so that narrows it down a bit....

maybe this helps?

Ruseau perhaps? this could be a misspelling of Rousseau.

Just my two cents.
I just like to do photo restores.
