It was Patch Tuesday last week, so one of the updates may have interfered.

For the most part, Win10 doesn't announce that it is installing things, so there could well be conflicts until the next reboot.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

Census information is Crown Copyright. See www.nationalarchives.gov.uk for details.

There is a W10 update today.....

If you click the Windows Icon to shutdown... does it say Shutdown  OR  Update and Shutdown?

This might be slightly off topic, but the principle is the same. For the last two or 3 weeks if ever I used Google Chrome running on Windows 10 for a search, for some bizarre reason the results were not clickable. On one occasion switching the computer off and back on again fixed it, but yesterday I backed up all my bookmarks and reinstalled Chrome and then reimported my bookmarks. It's too soon to be sure but it seems to have fixed the problem. I was previously already using the latest version of Chrome.

A silly thought, but until today, when I actually read your signature data for the first time, I had always read your name as Andre Walston.

I use Firefox (latest version) and Windows 10.  I think the problem must be Windows 10 as the slow downloads started when they did an update a couple of weeks ago.  They did another one yesterday evening and everything seems OK today.

Just checked Win 10 on here and it's up to date - checked now. So I have up to date  Firefox and Win10 and everything seems to be running fine on the sites that I use.

I tend to have a newspaper site open on their live feed and various other sites as well as RC and genealogy site searches as needed.

PS - it's not always been like this though  :-X

It just says Shutdown on my Laptop. I'll try PC now so I will be "off air" for a few minutes.

No - nor on my PC.

I'm bewildered. Must be a gremlin about. My VirginMedia email log-in now is timing out - 3 pulsating solid circles - but my CompuServe email is fine.

I just want to get back to my DNA matches!!
