;D ;D always willing to be corrected - or stand out from the crowd  ::) ::).

I wasn't positive at first glance josey because I thought the nose looked different. I think it's down to the angle for the nose.

Sorry, but another no vote.  I did a few repairs to get a better comparison. And after comparing eyes and nose, I agree with Josey that they might very well be related, but not the same person. Both are very distinguished and the one on the right seems slightly older.

The thing that puzzles me is the item which almost seems to be a funny hat on the lady on the left.  After looking for awhile it appears that it might be something like a diploma being held by someone behind her, possibly wearing a suit/vest? Maybe a school graduation...?

Hey everyone, thanks for all of your input. I guess I may never be able to prove that they are the same person, but having been part of other tintypes my family has passed down I will still preserve it.  Thanks for all the guesses though. The certainly seem to share facial features, I believe.

I wanted to follow up with a full version of the tintype for everyone to see if it helps in any way. Not sure when this is taken but I would assume 1860's-1870's because it's a tintype but I could be wrong.

Thanks again everyone. (had some fun resizing the image, hope this upload's correctly)

It's 1870's.
As tintypes are in reverse this is how they would have been posed.
