there is a side notation on the marriage certificate of Wanda Johanna Friedericke Marie Schroder and Alfred Eugen Schlafke. Saying Son Married 18/1941 in Pfeddersheim.
Pfeddersheim is now a part of Worms. They could have moved there after Alfreds death

1) Alfred Schäfke and Wanda Schröder married in Berlin-Lichtenberg. The marriage certificate has the above named side notation

2) A look at the Berlin address books from 1916/17 shows that the Schläfke family lived in Berlin-Lichtenberg, Scharnweber Str. 62.

3) someone was kind enough to look through the marraiage records in Berlin-Lichtenberg for 1917/18/19. There was no mention of a marriage Schmidt-Schläfke/Schröder

4) Wanda could have left Berlin with child(ren) after Alfreds death and moved to Pfeddersheim.

5) if the descendant of Harri Schmidt orders a copy of that marriage certificate he will possibly find the sons parents names.
Something like "son of of the deceased Alfred Schläfke and his wife Amanda nee Schröder, now married Schmidt"

6) this would prove (or not) that Wanda Schläfke nee Schröder lived in Pferddersheim and married a Schmidt.

It´s a long shot but never leave a stone unturned
Dave

you mentioned that a Family tree on Ancestry claim the Schroders may have been living in Jamaica and Germany.

Just for the books.
I don´t know where the tree holder got his info from but I don´t think it´s Jamaica in the Caribbean Sea!

There was a place called Jamaika in county Oststernberg, Frankfurt, Brandenburg, Preussen
Now Jamno in Poland

Hi Dave,
Thanks for this geographical update.  The Ancestry FT mentions births and baptisms in Troja -- found a town called Troja in Jamaica.  Perhaps there is a Town called  Troja in Prussia now Poland.  The FT mentions death of a sister ( of Wanda's) in Neustrelitz December 1975.  Have other records showing Schroder family in Brandenburg now Wroclaw, Poland.

There is a place called Troja in Mecklenburg. It is still a part of Germany and not Poland

Do not believe what you read there. The transcriber had a very bad day when he did this one.

it should read:
Mecklenburg-Schwerin Census, 1919

Name: August Schröder
Born: 11. Jul 1865
Sex:   male
Place of Birth:  Krümmel
Relationship:  Head of family
District:   Ritteramt Wredenhagen
Bandnumber:   4807
Microfilm number:   G744

Family Members:

1. August Schröder - Head of family - born 11.7.1865 in Krümmel
2. Pauline Schröder – Housewife – born 13.08.1871 in Troja
3. Frieda Schröder – Daughter – born 30.5.1893 in Troja
4. Wilhelmine Müller - Family member – born 15.04.1846 in Troja
5. Fritz Müller – Farmhand – born 6.1.1876 in Troja
6. Otto Schröder - Son of no. 3 – born 14.8.1919 in Troja

persons who are only temporarily living in this household

Friedrick Schröder – Scholar – born 26.1.1910 in Troja, resident in Neustrelitz

Another family researcher told me that Wilhelmine Müller (nr 4.) born 1846, was a born Prössel
She married a Müller in 1867.
She is the mother of Pauline Schröder

So Fritz would be Paulines brother

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your latest info, much appreciated.
Your 1900 census attachment would not open -- will visit my local Library today to access ancestry and view the census report there.
Will try to submit some German documents today for translation.
Many thanks

You need an Ancestry subscription to open those links

When looking for the 1919 census, search for Haushalt Schröder.
The  transcriber transcribed August as Haushalt. As i said he had a bad day
