Hi Dawn
Sadly it was. My grandfather & his wife (not my grandmother) lost 2 boys in 2 days.
This one was 3 months old. He died 2 days before his 14 month old brother died of pneumonia.

Pyloric stenosis affects boy babies more than girls.

Food cannot get through their system and they have what is called projectile vomiting - sprays all over you!  If it doesn't get fixed, they can die from malnutrition (e.g. marasmus).  Sadly, some parents do not recognise the vomiting as abnormal so may not get the baby to medical help as soon as is desirable.

When did this happen?

Hi Dawn

This was 1940.
Its really sad.  My grandfather's wife had quite a traumatic life, she must have been a very strong woman to live through all of the things that happened to her and didn't end up having a breakdown!

The strange thing is that a certain boys name appears several times - 3 boys, all half brothers, called the same Christian name. One died as a baby and the other 2 are still alive - we only discovered one of them about 4 years ago as he was adopted.
