Hi Trish,

Welcome to Rootschat!

For our reference

Can you point us to where your Cornelia Sarah Carter LEE is in 1900, since she was living then?

Some other identifiers so we can follow the right leads?

Cheers

an earlier Samuel Laforge is mentioned here, maybe this Samuel's father.

"Samuel LaForge conducted a boot, shoe, hat and cap store at No. 2, Phoenix Block, on
Wall Street."

-----
and this mention of the Laforge family, maybe a reference to the younger Emiline's death:

"The Miles house next was about that time occupied by a family named La Forge, one of whom, a young lady, suicided there."

findagrave says the younger Emeline is the daughter of Samuel and Emeline

1835 map with Samuel LaForge's house on Wharf Street said to be marked on it. I didn't look for it.
