Hi Margaret
Thanks for those. Unfortunately I couldn't see the marriages I was looking for so perhaps they married in other parishes.
I guess Richard and Elizabeth was married sometime before 1645 given that their son William was christened on 28 December 1645 [I don't know if there were any children before/after William]. As the [surviving] Hail-Weston records start in 1645 I guess it's possible they were married there before that date or possibly in a different parish.
The first child I have for William [Richard's son] is another William Banks. He was christened on 19 December 1675. I'm therefore guessing that William snr was probably married between 1665 and 1675 or possibly a few years earlier. Looking at the list you sent I couldn't see a marriage for William in that time period so again I wonder if he was married earlier or in another parish.
I didn't see any marriage for Richard Banks and Sarah on your list so again maybe they married elsewhere. I assume that the marriages you listed were the only ones in Hail-Weston. The first child I have for them is Jeremiah Banks [christened 28 February 1741]. All together Richard and Sarah had 10 children:
Jeremiah - christened 28 Feb 1741
James - christened 19 Jan 1745
Richard - christened Dec 1747
Sarah - christened 1749
Ann - christened 24 Jun 1750
William - christened 25 Nov 1753
John - christened 13 Jun 1756
James - christened 15 Jun 1760 [James is my ancestor]
Elizabeth - christened 19 Jun 1763
Mary - christened 27 Oct 1765
Given that there is over 20 years between the christenings of Jeremiah and Mary it is possible that Richard was married twice, with both his wives being called Sarah.
Are there any other burials or marriages in Hail-Weston between 1735 and 1820 at all?
Anyhow thanks for the info and I look forward to any other ideas you may have.
Matt
