Starts with Boher, quite a few places start with Boher
lane is very clear at the end
The pede in the middle that's giving trouble, can't see anywhere with something even similar.

I am wondering if it is Boherlahan but only trouble is it is in Co Tipperary!

I do not know the origins of this record and so do not know if Betham was an Irish person and therefore used to hearing and viewing Irish place names.

Have you located the family in Griffiths? A Maurice Kirby, who is mentioned as 'the brother' died 1865 according to Family Search and it might be an idea to get the certificate mentioned in this search.

Thanks for the feedback.

The Betham Genealogical Abstracts were created by Sir William Betham who made abstracts of the Prerogative Court records and created an index. He was an English-born Irish herald and antiquarian who held the office of Ulster King of Arms from 1820 until his death in 1853.

Patrick Kirby's entry was for 1776. If he's the right one, I think he had sons, Maurice (born ca 1785), Jeremiah (born ca 1796) and James Kirby, all of Ballyhoodane in Limerick. The land was leased to Patrick in 1804.

shanreagh, thanks for the 1865 death for Maurice Kirby - I'll follow that up. He could be the son, rather than the brother.

The next nearest time wise is the Tithe Applotment Books,
These are places starting with Boher in Limerick
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?surname=&firstname=&county=Limerick&townland=Boher*&parish=&search=Search&sort=&pageSize=&pager.offset=0
Spellings can be very different from today
I wonder if Boherbuye is a possibility

Link isn't working
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/index.jsp
Put in Boher* and choose Limerick
That's assuming the Boher is mistranscribed in the Applotments

Thanks, Sinann. I found another document re Maurice, father of Patrick, at Bohergela, now Boherygeela, which fits with other info I have about Maurice. He farmed at Glenogra, just 3km away.
