John & mary gannon nee mcfarlane, dublin
« on: Tuesday 22 January 19 15:42 GMT (UK) »
John gannon was also known as john joe , he was born in dublin in July 1907 he married mary mcfarlane on 26th August 1931 , his home address was 45 marino green dublin, he was my grandfather ,James gannon brother, my grandfather died in may of 1944  , so we never knew that side of the family, as time passed, I am guessing he may have  died in the 1970s or early 80s , I have traced all other brothers some with the kind help of rootschat member (sinann ),  there was william, micheal, patrick and my grandfather James, there where five brothers,
So it just, john( joseph ) gannon and his wife mary , I am trying to locate there grave and when they died of course, I've no idea where they lived in dublin , maybe the northside ,
Any help we be welcomed,
Diarmuid

Sorry hallmark, didn't mention my great grand parents , because I have traced the family back to 1800s , it just the one son John that I am looking for, ie his death and grave , as you've seen , I have john  birth , and marriage but no death , sorry for any inconvenience caused or misunderstood,
Diarmuid

Hi Diarmuid,

I think my mother and your father were cousins!  My mother was the daughter of William Gannon (died 1964) and Mary Byrne Gannon (died 1974).  They are buried with Williams parents and our great grand parents (Lizzie and John Gannon) and their niece (Kathleen).  My sister found your post and it was very helpful to us in our research.  Don't know if you've found your grandfathers grave yet but my sister found this, it might be useful to you.  I may also have a contact in the UK that is related to JohnJoe Gannon (born July 1907), my mother died some years ago but we still have an address there so if I find out anything else I will share it with you if you think that might be useful.  I'm very interested in going back to find John and Lizzie Gannon but I'm finding not all of the dates are matching up, I wonder would you mind if I shared some of our findings with you to see if they match up.  I'm finding all of this fascinating!

Kind regards,

Laura.
