This query is in respect the Court Martial of my ancestor PATRICK HARTFORD in India in 1840. I have attached the part of the record ( and the inverted copy) which relates to the punishment. The crime was to fall asleep on duty. He is the third line in the image.

OK, so it definitely says 6 and the rest is a ditto from the line above but I can’t for the life of me decipher the rest.
 Can anyone help me?
Margaret

Could the middle bit be Impt for imprisonment and the bit in front the amount of time?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

I agree. I think the top line reads 4 Mos Impt, but I'm not sure what the last bit is 'de'?

I think it's not 'de', but &c (= etc.).

Many thanks to those of you who responded to my query.
Of course its obvious when someone deciphers it for you.
Clearly he was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment which probably wasn't much fun for his wife who had five children to look after, presumably without his pay.

Cheers
