There is a Ruby Green marriage to a John Morton but it was 1931 in Burnley.  No other Ruby Green marriage to a Morton and no Sydney/Sidney Morton marriage to a Ruby of any surname

Found this at Newcastle City library yesterday:

He is listed in the 1929, 1937 and 1939 Ward's Directories (held at Newcastle library local studies) all at the address of 9 Hylton Road, Morton W. butcher

In 1939, he is also listed with a telephone number ( T 4229) alongside address.

In the Telephone Directories W. Morton is at 9, Hylton Road in 1946, and 11 Hylton Road in 1947, he was still there in 1964.
