« on: Thursday 24 January 19 09:26 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Trying to trace Parents of John Kerwin born 1840 Dover, Kent.
John moved to East Yorkshire and married  Christiana Dent in 1875 at St Andrews Church in Drypool Hull.
Any info would be most welcome.

Thomas was a widower, son of Thomas, when he married

In 1871, as Kirwin, son of Thomas, he seems to have married Maria Rudd in Skeckling cum Burstwick, Yorkshire, on 19th November.

David

P.S. The death of Maria was in Sculcoates in Q2 1875

Just had another look and, although the register states bachelor, the banns have widower.

He was a labourer in 1871 and 1875.

His father was also a labourer in 1875 but not clear in 1871.

Thank You,
The image you have posted although it appears in the occupation column of the father relates to 'abode'  Rooss.  The clergy seems to have completed the last three columns with the wrong information and the occupation of Labourer has been written under Fathers name  ;D

Ah yes.

I notice that his age varies on the records and his death in 1907 suggests that he was born in 1831.

I can't find a birth or census records before 1881.

Going back to it if he marry in 1871 going by age in 1875 he would only have been 15 years old.  So is age on 1875 record saying 38 is incorrect
