I found a Mary Kerby bapt 1836 St Margaret's Limerick City to Patrick Kerby and Margaret Barry, which seems to fit :-)

   its 12 miles away from limerick likely the family home rather than the city address Rutland st for the custom office

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm trying to connect him to the Kirbys at Ballyhudane - Maurice born 1791 and Jeremiah born1797 (sons of Patrick Kirby). Maurice has a memorial in the Cahercorney Cemetery. I suspect that Patrick might be his son.

Thanks for the Barry reference. I hadn't looked at that side of the family yet.

Thanks, hallmark, yes I did have those two items. It's the baptism of Patrick Kirby ca 1813 that's proving elusive.
