Dubious about WALKER   SADIE FRASER   1940   Logie (Stirling)
and found her death [seems unmarried]
Sarah Fraser(Ray) Walker
Burial Place   Bannockburn, Stirling, Scotland, United Kingdom
When?

The only death of a Sadie Fraser registered in Scotland is Sadie Fraser McBean or Gordon, aged 62, in Aberchirder in 1969. She will be Sadie Fraser McBean, born in Forres in 1906 so nothing to do with your Walkers.

wondering why move back to Scotland, if in Stafford, when rest of family stay in England?
Sometimes people get cremated and their ashes sent home to where they were originally from.

Might need to spend money to find details [tight Englishman!!!] and climb correct tree.

Ah, Sarah, not Sadie. I should have noticed from your previous post.

Sarah Fraser Walker or Russell or Cochrane or Drzekowski died in Stirling in 2000, aged 60, mother's maiden name Walker. I suppose Ray must be a pet name or nickname. Born 1940 in St Ninians, Stirling, reference 488.1/30.

She seems to have married Hugh Smith Cochrane or Drzekowski in 1959 and Michael O'Brien Russell in 1975.

Sadie Fraser Walker's birth was registered in Logie*, Stirling in 1940, reference 485b/34.

It is just conceivable that they are the same person. From Sarah's death record, her mother's surname was Walker. That might indicate that she was illegitimate. If her mother lived in, say, the district of Logie but the baby was born in, say, St Ninians, the birth would have to be registered in St Ninians. However if the baby's parents' usual residence was in Logie, the St Ninians Registrar had to send the details on to the Logie Registrar, who would also include them in the Logie register of births, so you would get two listings of one birth.

The snag with that is that in this case one certificate has the baby's name as Sarah and the other one is Sadie. Now, I believe that the name Sadie originated as a diminutive of Sarah (see http://www.whatsinaname.net/php/search.php?action=search2&search_name=sadie) but if the second Registrar was copying from details sent by the first, both should be identical. Unless the baby's name was changed, and the change notified to one Registrar but not to the other.

There is, fortunately, an easy way to check all this, which is to look at both original certificates. You can't do that online, but if someone is planning a visit to the Scotland's People Centre they could easily do that for you.

*PS There are several districts in Scotland called Logie or Logie-something. This one is the parish of Logie, which is partly in Perthshire, partly in Stirlingshire and even has a small area in Clackmannanshire. It was listed under Perthshire until 1892, then under Stirlingshire until 1970. You'll struggle to find Logie on a map, but the biggest place in Logie is Bridge of Allan.

I'm sure there's lots of useful stuff there, but the LDS transcription of the 1881 census for the whole of Scotland, not just the parts of that web site, is at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and can be viewed free of charge.

Likewise the complete Statistical Accounts of Scotland are all available to browse free of charge at http://stataccscot.edina.ac.uk/static/statacc/dist/home.

Why bother to duplicate what is already available free of charge at source?

Further to reply#3 of January 2019, update after research:
John Meiklejohn Walker mmn Bowman b1878 m 1901 Agnes Miller Crawford
Charles Edward Walker mmn Bowman b1880 m 1905 Jessie Roy
[John Meiklejohn Walker mmn Roy b1905 m 1927 Jane Anderson]
so yes there is a family link.
Would like to know Walker/Crawford family details, as struggling to find it.
cheers,
