Ah, Sarah, not Sadie. I should have noticed from your previous post.
Sarah Fraser Walker or Russell or Cochrane or Drzekowski died in Stirling in 2000, aged 60, mother's maiden name Walker. I suppose Ray must be a pet name or nickname. Born 1940 in St Ninians, Stirling, reference 488.1/30.
She seems to have married Hugh Smith Cochrane or Drzekowski in 1959 and Michael O'Brien Russell in 1975.
Sadie Fraser Walker's birth was registered in Logie*, Stirling in 1940, reference 485b/34.
It is just conceivable that they are the same person. From Sarah's death record, her mother's surname was Walker. That might indicate that she was illegitimate. If her mother lived in, say, the district of Logie but the baby was born in, say, St Ninians, the birth would have to be registered in St Ninians. However if the baby's parents' usual residence was in Logie, the St Ninians Registrar had to send the details on to the Logie Registrar, who would also include them in the Logie register of births, so you would get two listings of one birth.
The snag with that is that in this case one certificate has the baby's name as Sarah and the other one is Sadie. Now, I believe that the name Sadie originated as a diminutive of Sarah (see
http://www.whatsinaname.net/php/search.php?action=search2&search_name=sadie) but if the second Registrar was copying from details sent by the first, both should be identical. Unless the baby's name was changed, and the change notified to one Registrar but not to the other.
There is, fortunately, an easy way to check all this, which is to look at both original certificates. You can't do that online, but if someone is planning a visit to the Scotland's People Centre they could easily do that for you.
*PS There are several districts in Scotland called Logie or Logie-something. This one is the parish of Logie, which is partly in Perthshire, partly in Stirlingshire and even has a small area in Clackmannanshire. It was listed under Perthshire until 1892, then under Stirlingshire until 1970. You'll struggle to find Logie on a map, but the biggest place in Logie is Bridge of Allan.
