John Meiklejohn Walker
« on: Sunday 27 January 19 09:41 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
All I know is he married Irene Joan Ellis in Stafford in 1954.
I think he was born in Scotland as he and his mother had scottish accents.
I would put his birth around 1920-1930.
Can anyone find anything about him?
Hoping..
Mel C

HI Mel

Could this connect to your John perhaps?

My grandfather was also called John Meiklejohn Walker. He worked for the Carron Shipping Company and came from Stirling. He married Agnes Miller Crawford in 1901. My father was born in 1913 in Glasgow and the family moved to Harrow Mddx. in the 1920's. My Dad used to say that one of his ancestors was an apothecary in Stirling and a JP. He had an uncle or great uncle who was a chemist and invented Tralee oil, whatever that was. Maybe we are related?

Hopefully the birth cert mentioned above by Colin and Dorrie will help you work back with confidence.

Hi MonicaL,
Anything is possible!!!
I will keep an open mind and see if any evidence can be found.
Thanks to ColC and dowdstree for information.

Hi,
New to Scotland search.
Am searching for a cousins family ancestors.
John Meiklejohn Walker b1926 Falkirk.
Can any of these be linked to him?
Marriages:
WALKER JOHN MEIKLEJOHN ANDERSON JANE 1927 479/ 151 Falkirk
WALKER JOHN MEIKLEJOHN CRAWFORD AGNES MILLER 1901 644/5 78 Blackfriars
WALKER ANN MEIKLEJOHN WEIR ROBERT 1905 485/A 38 Larbert
Births:
ANN MEIKLEJOHN WALKER b1881
ANNE WALKER b1873 mother BOWMAN
There appear to be a lot of Walkers in Larbert, Falkirk.
Hope someone can find something a possible link to follow.
Mel C

To be honest, unless someone has knowledge from researching this family, it would be guesswork without the BC of John Meiklejohn Walker b1926 Falkirk which would name both parents with mother's m/s & their date/place of marriage (if they were married).

This one is after his birth "WALKER JOHN MEIKLEJOHN ANDERSON JANE 1927 479/ 151 Falkirk" although it's a possible.

Registered under both surnames;

ANDERSON JOHN MEIKLEJOHN 1926
479/ 258 Falkirk

Walker with same ref. no.

So it seems "WALKER JOHN MEIKLEJOHN ANDERSON JANE 1927 479/ 151 Falkirk" are his likely parents & their marriage will give you both parental details with mothers maiden names as well as fathers occs. & witnesses who may be relatives?
