William Giles b 1841. Medical record 18th Hussars
« on: Sunday 27 January 19 13:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

I am having a bit of trouble reading my 1st cousin 5 x removed medical record which is attached to his 12pg Chelsea pension record and wondered if you could help me please?
I can make out some of it but am having particular trouble with primary/secondary disease abbreviations and treatments.
Please could someone help me with this?
The info is from Fold3.
Best wishes Emma

It looks like a lot of febris (fever) - febris CC, febris inter, and a lot of hepatitis in India, then back in the UK "no appreciable disease", pneumonia, syph gaim (?) - presumably syphilis ?

Thank you for taking a look, poor chap!! I guess we know now that the fibrile convulsions and hepatitis are down to the life cycle of the plasmodium parasite that caused malaria.
Really appreciate you help :)
