If they married in Belfast after 1943 you won't find it in the online database (marriages more than 75 years only there). You can, however, order a certificate from GRONI but might be a good idea to ring first and explain what you are looking for.

Hi
I am not going to make any change to my reply #4.
I asked if Suzanne had the names/dates of all ( mentioned as ) 7 children,I did  not ask Suzanne to publish publicly, I was going to provide ( to her ) any possibly missing/erroneous via PMSystem.
[ Suzanne, my apologies for not being absolutely clear ]

Thank you for all your help, I shall contact the GRONI tomorrow.

Ray - I do apologise, I totally forgot about the publishing of living people, I know you didn't ask me to publish that was my mistake.

As having never posted on her before I really appreciate your time helping me, hopefully I haven't put you off helping me in the future!

It's a brilliant resource, your time and help is so much appreciated.

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,

I have been a member of Rootschat for quite a while and still manage to get myself 'ticked off' for an oversight! Please don't worry.

The other thing we are not allowed to do is provide information from the 1911 census obtained from the subscription sites.

I do hope your enquiry with GRONI bears fruit. Good Luck with it.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Hi Suzanne,
It's Funny what comes up when you google your relatives!  I was just searching the same thing and having loaded a fiver on to the GRONI website I come up with nothing!

I knew Granddad Ted used to be a chemist but my dad just shrugged when I asked anymore detail.
However, it looks like he may have been published with something even named after him, just trying to figure that out and see if its the same person...

All the best,
(Cousin) Ian

Have you considered getting your grandfather’s Army papers? Assuming he is the E V Kendrick in the records that have been found you have enough details to get them.

The ones from 1940 and 1945 I think show he was captured in 1940 in France and released in 1945 in Poland. Could he have met his wife somewhere on his long trip back home?

I came across those records a few years ago but I’m not sure if it is the same person. My dad doesn’t know anything of him being a POW and nothing bout it from my aunties either.
From his uniform in the wedding picture we have, and another of him stood outside of a building, he was a Corporal in the RASC but has an Irish Gate badge which would suggest that he had beef posted in Ireland?
Not sure how long for though, I paid for some info on a war/services record site that seem to match up with him being a POW from 1940-1945 (Service No. 135970) but again... trying to get confirmation has been difficult...

I’m afraid I wasn’t very clear I meant apply to the army for his army papers. If he was married whilst still in the army the marriage should/hopefully be recorded in his papers. It costs, I think, £30 to apply. I will see if I can find the address where you apply to. I know you can download the forms to send.

Might be easier and quicker and cheaper to apply to GRONI for marriage.
