On my grandfathers wed cert (1946) it says  his occupation was: Cpl.No.Po/X 4830 R.M. (continuous service)
Could anyone explain what this means?

Corporal in the Royal Marines whose number was Po (Portsmouth division) 4830 (continuous service - numbers issued to men who enlisted for a fixed period of time).

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

His record will still be with the MOD (Navy) if you wish to apply for it.
