Possible relatives 1850s-60s Glasgow/Clyde/Lanark help

From 1851 Scotland census
Residing at 94 Old Wynd

Michael Dyre 25
Catherine Dyre 23
Patt Dyre  8
Bridget Dyre 5

In 18161 Scotland census residing at 100 Bridgegate

Micheal Dyes 45
Catherine Dyes 38
Patrick Dyes 19
Bridget Dyes 15
Elizabeth Dyes10
Mary Dyes 5
Sarah Dyes 8 Mo

1851 residing at 108 Old Wynd

John Dyer 37
Bridget Dyer 32
John Dyer 12
Matthew Dyer 10
Peter Dyer 8
Honor Dyers 4
Cath Carley 26

In 1861 Scotland census
Residing at 101 Bridgegate

John Dyer 50
Bridget Dyer 50
Peter Dyer 19
Anne Dyer 10

Michael Dyer and Catharine Manley end up in Port Dalhousie Ontario between 1868 when Elizabeth died in Glasgow and 1871 as they appear in the Canadian census.

In Patrick Dyer and Mary McDonald's baptism of one of their children in Port Dalhousie had shown one of the sponsors to be a John Rooney and Bridget Dwyer. I thought it may be possible that it was actually a Bridget Manley possibly a sister of Patrick's mother Catharine as there is an 1852 catholic marriage record from Glasgow between a John Rooney and Bridget Munly or Munley.
I did find a John and Bridget Rooney also residing at 101 Bridgegate in 1861, however there is also a death record for a John Rooney son of John Rooney and Bridget Manley from 1863 stating the child was 3 years old which could conflict with this record
1861 residing at 101 Bridgegate
John Rooney 50
Bridget Rooney 48
Mary Rooney 9
John Rooney 7
Agnes Dick 39

I also found an 1851 census of this family residing at 60 Old Wynd

Bridget Dyer 58
Thomas Dyer 24
Mark Dyer 20
Agnes Dyer 16
Bridget Dyer 13
James Dyer 11
Mary Donley 40
Roseanne Donley19
Margaret Twigley 35
John Muldown 40

I don't have much to go by and this obviously isn't definitive, but I believe I may be onto making a big connection in my family tree and would appreciate any guidance or insight anyone could provide.

Thank you

Hi Kevin

Oops...your post looks to have passed us by.

Just some questions from me:

Have you confirmation of place and date of Michael and Catherine's marriage? From their 1861 census entry you have, they show their birthplace as  Killow County Mayo. Have you got the original of the census? This will help you in clarifying birth place. Also, children born to them in the 1860s in Scotland should show marital details for their parents on their birth regs.

Have you made any headway on their roots in Ireland?

What was the family's religeon? RC?

Guessing you have no parents' details on death regs for Michael and Catherine in Ontario?

I think the census entries you have included for a John Rooney and wife Bridget may not be for the right couple you have found with mother showing as Manley (and variants of this spelling). The look too old to be having children through the 1860s.

I think there is a further couple with the name of John Rooney and Bridget Manley, who may connect to that 1852 RC marriage you found, having the following children through the 1850-60s. From Family Search index, the following entries. Original birth certs on Scotlands People:

Michael 1857 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQRC-LJD
Edward 1862 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQRZ-Y32
Mary 1864 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQZS-MHC
Thomas 1867 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQBQ-LD8
Nancy 1870 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQHJ-MDM (Ann/Agnes/Nancy are variants)
