Would it be possible to post a complete image? The right side is not complete. The last word could be "detachment" (on detachment), and there is definitely the stroke of a letter after "flying"...

I was about to have a go at this, then read the previous posts and realised that there's nothing left to do!  Shanreagh's explanation of 'flying of the chest' was the final piece of the puzzle :D

I'll go and make myself useful elsewhere for now ;D

I believe 'discovered by flying' should read 'succeeded by flying' meaning that he caught cold and then developed the chest problems.
